Beautiful Walnut Mountain Park in Liberty, New York, at the foothills
to the Catskills Mountains, offers the authentic Civil War re-enactor
(both campaign & garrison soldiers) over 300 acres of meadows,
brush-lands, and wooded mountainside to camp and battle upon.
Re-enactors from all over the North East have said "The
battlefields are the most authentic in the hobby", the 143rd really did
a lot of hard work to bring a quality event to the spectator and
re-enactor alike" - " I will tell everybody I know to come back next
year" - "truly a quality event".

SPECTATOR INFORMATION:
The 20th Annual Civil War Encampment and
Battle Reenactment will be held at Walnut Mountain Park (off Route 55
West) in the town of Liberty, New York on July 28th and 29th, 2007.
Come view the daily routines of the Civil War soldiers from both the
Union and Confederate standpoints. Watch full scale battles unfold
as if on a huge outdoor theater screen. Return Saturday evening
for out candlelight tour, where a lantern bearing soldier will guide you
through the darkness to various stations where reenactors will entertain
you with scenarios. All this will be performed in a very authentic
19th century atmosphere. You also may visit sulter row where the
reenactors purchase their equipment. There is an on-site
concession for food and drink. Bring light lawn chairs to view
battles.
Admission:
Adults - $10.00
Senior Citizens - $8.00
Kids 5 and under - Free
The candlelight tour is an additional $5.00 fee. Group rates are
available for units of 10 adults or more. Please contact us well
in advance for rates and parking for bus groups.
Gates are open from
9am to 5pm on Saturday, and from 9am to the conclusion of the battle on
Sunday. Candlelight Tour is at dark on Saturday.
